Mobile clock-in setup: 10 minutes from install to first shift
Exactly what happens when you switch from a wall tablet to phone-based time clock. Step by step.
The number-one reason people don’t switch off a wall tablet is the fear that the rollout will eat a week of management time. Here’s exactly how long it actually takes with ClockVe, end to end.
What you’ll do (10 minutes)
Minute 0-3: Sign up
Go to app.clockve.com/signup. Enter your email, your company name, and a password. There’s no card field — you’re on the 14-day trial automatically.
You’ll land on the onboarding wizard. Add your first location (street address, optional geofence radius), then add your first employee (their name + email).
That’s it for setup. Three fields.
Minute 3-6: Invite the team
From the dashboard, paste in the rest of your employees’ emails (you can bulk-paste from a spreadsheet column). Each one gets an email with a one-click signup link.
The email shows up in their inbox like every other “you’ve been invited” email. They tap it on their phone, set a password, and they’re in.
Minute 6-9: First clock-in
Your employees download the ClockVe app from the App Store or Play Store (search “ClockVe” or use the link in their invite email). They open it, sign in, tap Clock in. Done.
If you’ve set a geofence, the app checks that they’re within the radius before letting them clock in. If you’ve turned on photo-clock-in, they snap a quick selfie. Otherwise the clock-in is one tap.
The shift shows up on your dashboard in real time.
Minute 9-10: Approve the first week
End of the week, open the dashboard, click Approve all on the timecard screen. Outliers (overtime, missing breaks, anyone past their scheduled hours) are highlighted at the top so you can correct them before approving.
Export the CSV. Drop it into Gusto / Rippling / ADP / Paychex. Payroll runs.
What doesn’t happen
- You don’t install a wall tablet. Phones already exist.
- You don’t train your team. The app has two buttons.
- You don’t watch a 30-minute setup webinar. The wizard is the training.
- You don’t pay per employee. Flat per-month, four tiers; you pay the same whether you bring on five or fifty.
